A collector’s edition of the Confessions of St. Augustine of Hippo. This edition of the fourth-century autobiographical work, published in 1979 by The Easton Press, features the English translation of J. G. Pilkington with an introduction by George N. Shuster and illustrations after paintings by Edy Legrand. The book is a fully bound in red leather on board with with four raised bands to the spine, a ribbon bookmark, gilt turn-ins, and gilt ornamentation on the front cover and to the spine.
