Ink Painting on Silk of Chinese Junk Ships

An ink painting on silk by an anonymous artist. This depicts three Chinese junk ships within a wide estuary, bordered by curving shores. The tall masts and sweeping sails of other ships on the open water can be seen through the morning mist in the distance. This work is unsigned and presented doubled matted under glass in a wooden frame that is wired for hanging.

Condition

- a few spots of discoloration that look like foxing, some brown streaks on the silk to the left side of painting; some wear to the edges of the frame.
