Haitian Wood Carvings of Romantic Couples
Item Details
A pair of Haitian wood carvings of romantic couples, in low relief. The first piece presents a stylized pair of figures embracing and reaching toward the sky, their arms and feet merging into one piece of wood. The second piece depicts a man and a woman kissing, stylized into a roughly rectangular shape with dynamic curves and carved details. There are no apparent maker’s marks, and each piece is presented on a an orange burlap background without glass, in a wood frame with hanging wire affixed to the verso.

- light edge wear to frames.
