Louis XVI Inspired Carved Twin Beds

Item Details

A pair of Louis XVI inspired carved twin beds. This intricately carved pair have dark walnut stains and include the headboards, footboards, side rails, and slats. Each headboard features a carved crest with foliate detail, atop a panel with a carved floral urn with vining foliate scrolls within a carved border. The footboards each have carved panels with vining foliate scrolls, swags, and carved initials; ‘WL’ to one and ‘EL’ to the other. The stiles of the headboards and footboards have carved bell flowers, with floral top blocks above fluted legs. A mark reads ‘Vono/Made in England’ to a rail.

- some scratches and scuffs; one headboard’s center carved trim piece is loose; footboards are monogrammed “WL” and “EL”; some rust to rails.
