Edison Ediphone Wax Cylinder Dictation Machine
Item Details
An Ediphone wax cylinder dictation machine, produced by Thomas A. Edison, Inc. in the first half of the twentieth century. This gray metal tabletop model features a rounded top with a built-in sliding lid to cover the cylinder and controls when the machine is not in use. This Ediphone includes one wax cylinder and a paper dictation index strip from an Edison Voicewriter machine. The machine is marked ‘Edison’, ‘Thomas A Edison’ and ‘Ediphone’, and a partial warranty label on the underside includes the numbers ‘ED-3705-A’.
Condition
- to fair; wear and scratches to finish. Light rust and staining, wear to paint, and metal ID plate missing from underside. Does not include microphone. Untested.
