Room-Sized Hand-Knotted Persian Tabriz Vase Carpet

A room-sized, hand-knotted, Persian Tabriz vase carpet, circa 1960s. This densely knotted rug features a central medallion with a large central urn in a palette of navy, crimson, and robin’s egg blue. The field has a pictorial arabesque pattern with vases and lancet leaves in a crisp palette of crimson, navy, dove gray, sage green, and robin’s egg blue on an off-white field. It has a compound border with a vase and floral design, and four navy, robin’s egg blue and cream vase spandrels to the corners. It has a natural warp fringe to either end. It has overcast edges and neat, cropped and thick wool warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
