Antique Napoleon III Style Cave à Liqueur Tantalus Set

Item Details

An antique Napoleon III style cave à liqueur tantalus set, circa late 19th to early 20th century. The wooden, dark-stained case is decorated with ornately-scrolled cartouches on the top and front panel as well as inlaid trim. It features a rectangular, hinged lid with a serpentine, front edge above a pair of hinged side panels. The interior has a removable, decanter and cordial glass holder with a brass support frame and handle. The tantalus rises on four bun feet.

Condition

- some losses of inlaid trim with portions loose and lifting; surface wear throughout, including some fading and craquelure; key, decanters, and glasses are not included.
