1960s-Era Smith-Corona Corsair Deluxe Portable Typewriter
Item Details
A Smith-Corona Corsair Deluxe portable typewriter, produced circa the 1960s. This metal and plastic portable manual typewriter has a light blue body and cover plate, contoured white keys and a light blue hard plastic lid which latches in place over the typewriter to form the carrying case. The typewriter includes a tabulator, error control half-spacing function, bichrome ribbon switch and touch control but does not have a 1 key. The plate above the keyboard is marked ‘SCM Smith-Corona’, the page gage is marked ‘Corsair Deluxe’ and the back of the machine is marked ‘SCM Smith-Corona Made in England’.
Condition
- minor discoloration to keys and case; general surface wear; some rust; would benefit from cleaning; untested.
