Native American Hopi Hand-Carved and Painted Kachina

A hand-carved and painted signed Native American Kachina sculpture, signed ‘Early Morning – Pang’. The Hopi Kachina figurine depicts a spirit wearing an orange feathered headdress, with a blue face, red ears and nose, and the body is painted turquoise blue and brown with a white loin cloth and blue boots. A fur piece is attached at the back of the shoulders and trails down to approximately the back of the figure’s knees. The Kachina holds brown and white feathers in its fists, and it is mounted to a light colored wood base. The underside is marked by hand ‘Early Morning’ and what appears to be ‘Pang’.

Condition

- Arm with yellow was broken off and repaired with glue
- surface scuffs, paint chips
