Item Details

A late 20th century Russian Palekh black lacquer box has a hand painted portrait of Jesus Christ. The hinged lid opens to reveal a red interior. The edges along the top of the box have gold painted chain motif. The village name appears on the lower left corner and the artist signature is in the lower right.
