Antique Chicken Feed Disperser

An antique chicken feed disperser. This rectangular item has one hinged door that opens partially at the top where the feed would be poured in and an opening at the bottom. The piece attached to the wing nut can control how much feed is dispersed when the item is shaken. The metal attachments at the side that extend slightly beyond the opening keep the feed from being flung too widely. A handle is at the top allowing the farmer to spread feed with one hand while having the other hand free for other tasks. The piece is unmarked with a maker or manufacturer’s name.
