An offset lithograph on paper after an acrylic painting titled Mother and the Word by Atlanta artist, Sam D. Burston. This print depicts a weary African American woman leaning forward in a chair, holding the Bible. The print is signed in-plate to the lower right margin. It is signed and titled by hand in black ink to the lower margins. The print is triple matted in gold tone and white and presented behind glass in a black wooden frame with with an easel stand to the verso. To the verso, inscribed by hand in gold tone ink reads ‘S.D.B. Creations’.

- surface scratches to frame; edge wear to frame.
