An abstract oil painting on canvas titled The Resurrection. Portrayed in an Abstract Expressionist style with large gestural brushstrokes, vibrant colors, and indistinguishable figure and ground, this work features a large dominant figure wearing an orange and red cloak. The figure holds up its right hand in a blessing gesture and two other figures huddle below. No signature was found on the work; handwriting to the verso reads the title. The painting is presented in a black wood frame; foam board is affixed to the verso.
Condition
- wear in frame includes small chips, paint loss, and scratches throughout; frame is separating at corners and needs securing.
