1970s Underwood 255 Portable Typewriter With Case and Instructions
Item Details
An Underwood 255 portable typewriter, manufactured by Silver-Seiko circa the 1970s. This portable manual typewriter has an angular design with an off-white all-metal body and black plastic keys, and includes a black hard plastic lid which latches into place over the typewriter to form a carrying case. The cover plate is labeled ‘Underwood 255’ in lowercase silver tone-on-black lettering, and a plate on the back of the machine reads ‘Serial No. 50008075 Made in Japan’. This typewriter includes the original instruction manual and has a plastic guard in place over the type bars, labeled ’Don’t throw this guard away, replace after typing’ in four European languages.
