A collection of Chinese serving pieces including United Wilson 1897. The blue and white ceramic pitcher features a Chinese landscape motif and a man’s face. The piece is marked to the bottom, “United Wilson 1897”, a Hong Kong-based porcelain manufacturer. The lidded tureen and square plate feature same landscape motif. Marked to the underside, ’Yong sheng tang zhi” (永勝堂製), which has been identified by some scholars as the hallmark of the Yongsheng (Eternal Victory) Ornamented Porcelain Factory (永勝彩瓷廠), which started to produce wares in the early Republic (1912-1949) in Hong Kong, and possibly mainland China as well.
