William and Mary Style Buffet from the Rockford Furniture Company
Item Details
A William and Mary style buffet, from the Rockford Furniture Company. The rectangular countertop is accented by a three-segment backsplash and carved edging. Two half-width upper drawers open via round pulls on demilune panels, and feature dovetail joinery within. Two lower cabinet doors, similarly designed, swing open to reveal storage space within, and are separated by turned balusters that lead past egg and dart edging to the three trestle bases on which the entire structure rises. A sticker within one drawer bears the logo of the Rockford Furniture Company of Rockford, Illinois, which was in business from 1905 until approximately 1920.
