Vintage Rattan Chair and Footstool Frames by Ficks Reed

Item Details

A vintage rattan chair frame with matching footstool frame, both made by Ficks Reed. Both pieces feature rattan frames with wooden seat frames transversed by webbing for support. Each piece rises on four legs with curved X stretchers beneath.

Ficks Reed was originally founded as a carriage and bassinet builder in 1886. They rose to prominence constructing rattan furniture during the 1950s in their plant just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, before ultimately closing their doors in 2011.
