A mixed media composition on canvas titled Mountain of My Dreams by Maryland-based artist Frank Kowing (1944-2016). Composed of acrylic and mixed media, this work features a textural canvas surface filled with an abyss of dripping splotches and large gestural brushstrokes in various vibrant colors. The composition is accented with large white slashes, printed images, and two large clusters of crinkled duct tape protrusions adhered to the central area of the canvas. The work is signed and titled to the verso; a descriptive label is also present to the verso. The work remains unframed.

Frank Kowing is an outsider artist based in Maryland with a larger than life reputation. He is known for his mixed media works, many grand in scale and with three dimensional quality. He has participated in a vast array of group shows and exhibits since his first shows in the 1970s in New York City. His education, after service in Vietnam with the US Army, was extensive and included the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam, Netherlands and several fine art institutions in Pennsylvania.
