A hand-knotted Indo Persian carpet runner. This wool rug, likely made in India, features a densely patterned, classic herati field grounded in deep midnight blue. Framing the field are six borders, including a herati main border grounded in rust-red, and meandering floral minor borders grounded in mustard and sage. The palette is deep midnight blue, red, and mustard. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short kilim skirts and long, decoratively knotted cotton warp fringe. The rug is unlabeled.
