Late 20th Century Russian Kholui Lacquer Box with Knight

Item Details

A late 20th century Russian Kholui hand painted lacquer footed box depicts a fairytale of brave Russian knight who attempts to rescue his bride from the evil Chernomor. The lid is hinged which opens to reveal a red lacquer interior. Both the lid and the box have gilt scroll detailing along the edge and sides. The artist name is in the right corner and the village name appears on the left. The titled of the box is placed in the middle.

EBTH certifies this item is from the private collection of personal property formerly owned by Dr. Robert H. Schuller.
