Vintage Gowllands Otoscope with Carrying Case
Item Details
A vintage Gowllands Otoscope in a carrying case. The medical device is designed for visual examination of the outer ear and ear drum. It has a black handle with chromed metal trim, and the end of the handle is marked ‘Gowllands Made in England’. The carrying case is made of wood with a black covering, stamped with gold letters ’Gowllands Otoscope – Medisco, Inc. There is a clasp on the front, and the case is lined in a blue velveteen material, with recesses to hold the otoscope and attachments. The attachments appear to be made of a black plastic or Bakelite material.
Condition
- device not tested; may be incomplete
- case is very worn, dusty and stained
- device and attachments show surface marks, wear and some small chips to tips of attachments
