A mixed media drawing on paper titled Madonna and Child by listed artist Paul Findlay (b.1939). Resembling Art Brut and Abstract Expressionism, this work is composed of crayon, pastel, paint, ink, and other two-dimensional mediums. The work features a web of overlapped and smeared colors with obsessive repetitive squiggles drawn and delineated in sgraffito. An abstracted face is centrally situated and dominates the composition. The work is signed to the lower right; handwriting to the verso reads the title. The drawing is mounted on a green surface, presented under acrylic glass, and housed in a silver-tone metal frame.
