Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon Set
Item Details
A collection of eight sterling silver souvenir spoons. One of the spoons depicts a stork to commemorate a new born baby. It is engraved ‘June Horner Morgan’ to the back and is also engraved with the date, place of birth and parents names to the interior of the spoon. It is marked ‘Sterling PAT’D’07’ to the verso. Also included is a pineapple adorned spoon engraved ‘Miami FLA’ and stamped ‘STERLING’ to the verso; an Old Faithful Yosemite National Park spoon marked ‘STERLING;’ a Chicago spoon including depictions of the Auditorium, Masonic Temple, New County Building, First National Bank, U.S. Government Building and Post Office and is marked ‘STERLING’ to the back. There is also a Yosemite Valley spoon marked ‘STERLING;’ a 1517 ‘Ein Feste Berg 1st Unser Coti’ spoon stamped ‘925’ to the verso and engraved initials ‘CE;’ an orange adorned spoon engraved ‘Mercer’ and marked ‘STERLING’ to the back; and a Colorado Summit spoon with Pike’s Peak at altitude 14147 feet, marked ‘STERLING’ to the verso. Makers in the collection include, Watson Company, Charles M. Robbins, Mauser Manufacturing Company and Mechanics Sterling Company.
