Victorian Sterling Silver and Glass Condiment Set
Item Details
A Victorian sterling and glass condiment set. Four of the items feature a matching design with ribbed edges and a cut star to the underside. They include two decanters with a glass stopper, one oil cruet featuring a sterling silver lid with a finial, and a sugar shaker with a sterling silver lid. The lid of the oil decanter is marked with a maker’s mark, possibly for James Dixon & Sons, followed by an anchor, the date mark for 1870, the Victoria duty mark, and a lion passant. The sugar shaker lid features the same marks but with an indiscernible maker’s mark instead. Also included is a glass decanter with scalloped cut edges and a matching stopper. The sugar shaker lid weighs 0.161 ozt. The mustard lid was not weighed as it is attached to the glass.
