A handwoven Turkish soumak. This wool area rug is rendered in a bright palette of cherry, indigo, canary, camel, lavender, and midnight blue. It features a freeform, loosely symmetrical design of geometric motifs over an abrashed indigo and midnight blue field. Framing the field is a single, wide border grounded in cherry and filled with abstract, geometric motifs. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with long twisted red wool warp fringe. Unlabeled.
