Hand-Knotted Tibetan Khaden Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Tibetan khaden rug. This plush wool sleeping/prayer rug, likely made in Nepal or India by Tibetan weavers, is rendered in a palette of sapphire, coral, camel, powder blue, and sage. It begins with three round medallions over a sapphire-colored field, which features a meandering fret pattern in each corner. Framing the field is a Chinese-style key design over camel. Edges are finished on all sides; top and bottom edges have woven strips folded underneath. The rug is unlabeled.
