A collection of eight antique 19th-century hand-colored steel plate engravings by various engravers after paintings by various artists for the 1837 publication of Finden’s Tableaux. A Series of Thirteen Scenes of National Character, Beauty, and Costume. This collection is accompanied by original printed information on gold-tooled pages torn from its binding, listing each engraving, the title of the image, the name of the engraver, and the name of the artist after whose painting the engraving was rendered. Each of these works is mounted behind gold tone and white linen matting, behind museum glass in a composite frame with a black and gilt finish, equipped to hang.

- condition consistent with age. Foxing and discoloration across each print. Accretion on frames. Light wear to frames.
