Item Details
An original gouache painting on fibrous tissue paper applied to masonite by listed American artist Ruthe G. Pearlman (Cincinnati, Ohio; 1913 – 2007). The painting depicts a view of a wide river landscape, painted in neutral shades of white, black, and brown. Leafless trees rise silhouetted in the foreground, and light falls across hills in the distance. The painting is signed in white to the lower left. The painting is presented in a wooden frame with brushed white finish. Pearlman studied art at the Cincinnati Art Academy, beginning in 1929. Condition
- painting is in good condition with light accretion to painting’s surface, and a few small scratches and chips are visible. Tissue paper has peeled up a bit to right edge. Frame is in poor condition, with heavy accretion across and separating at corners.
