"Old Ironsides" Ship's Wheel Bookends

A pair of ship’s wheel bookends. These metal bookends depict ‘Old Ironsides’, the USS Constitution. The USS Constitution is the world’s oldest floating fully commissioned ship. The commemorative bookends were made with material taken from the ship in the 1920s. Old Ironsides was launched in 1797, and today stands in Boston Harbour to promote naval history.
