A 1936 Miami Senior Ball program signed by composer, Duke Ellington. This program was hand signed by Ellington, after performing during the Senior Ball. Ellington, who performed for over 50 years as a composer, pianist and bandleader, gained notoriety while playing at the ‘Cotton Club’ in Harlem. Ellington was a musical innovator and helped turn Jazz into an art form, which allowed the genre to gain mainstream exposure.
