The watercolor painting depicts an abstract composition of rolling waves overlaid with pigment indicating the form of a sailing boat in the sunlight. The offset lithograph depicts a single-masted sailboat painted over top a map of Maryland, specifically near the Eastport area bordering the Severn River. The painting is presented under an oval mat, while both are placed beneath glass in a toned wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
