A 1930s color lithograph poster on paper after an illustration by listed British artist Frank Newbould (1887 – 1951). The piece, titled Cutting Bananas in Jamaica, depicts a mid-century Caribbean farming scene, accented in hues of green, red, blue, cream and brown. The image is signed in plate to the lower left. The print is presented under glass in a grey metal frame with hanging wire to the verso. The lower portion of the print has been removed and adhered to the verso; it includes the work title, as well as text that reads ‘R.B.O.S. Issued by Empire Marketing Board’.
