A pair of 1830s books on women’s health. An Elementary Treatise on Midwifery: or Principles of Tokology and Embryology by Alfred-Armand-Louis-Marie Velpeau, translated by Charles D. Meigs, was published by Grigg & Elliot of Philadelphia in 1831. Treatise on the Diseases of Females by William P. Dewees was published by Carey, Lea & Blanchard of Philadelphia in 1833. Both are quarto volumes in full leather hardcover bindings.
