Wedgwood Blue Jasper Spill Vase and Others
Item Details
A collection of Wedgwood blue jasper. The assortment contains a spill vase, plate, and four small pin and trinket trays. The pieces all have neoclassical figures in white relief on a blue jasper dip body with angels and putti included. This body was developed by Josiah Wedgwood the first in the eighteenth century. The decoration has been extremely popular since it’s inception and an active collector society and clubs are still in existence. There are three small trays that were produced for the Collector’s Society and bear the special oval mark with a bust of Josiah the first. There are also impressed marks reading “Wedgwood Made in England” on all the examples.
Condition
- wear and marks; smallest blue dish has heavy wear and staining present .
