A gouache painting on paper of a forest landscape with a cardinal. This piece, captured in a rich, warm palette, presents an Impressionistic view of trees and brush against a bright yellow sky, a small red cardinal resting on a branch toward the lower left. This painting is signed and dated ‘Horton 76,’ and is double-matted under glass in a carved wooden frame with hanging hardware to its verso.
