An oil painting on canvas of a shepherd overlooking his flock. This painting depicts the aforementioned figure standing at the top of a rolling hill, clutching at a crook as he and his dog watch a herd of sheep to the distance. They nestle near a calm stream that wraps into a mountainous landscape. The unsigned painting is presented in a stained wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- to poor; darkening to varnish; paint loss on the right side; abrasions and severe surface scratches to frame; paper clung to frame verso; protrusions to canvas at lower edge; organic residue found to lower left and right corners.
