A mid-century mixed media work on paper by listed Modernist artist Tony Agostini (1916 – 1990). The piece, titled L’Atelier, depicts an artists’s studio with paintings and easels scattered throughout the room. The image is rendered in layers of ink and oil paint in hues of red, blue, green and yellow. It is signed by hand to the lower center right and presented under glass in a gold tone wooden frame with a beige liner to the front and hanging wire to the verso. The frame backing includes labels with the artist’s name, work title and additional notations of ‘No. 10’ and ‘Galerie Charpentier, Paris’.

Condition

- to Fair; paper is buckled inside frame, toning to paper and liner; wear and stains to frame finish; separation to some frame joints; tears along edges of backing paper.
