A limited edition serigraph, titled Prelude to Columbia, by listed artist Sam Gilliam. This print on paper depicts an interlocking composition of various geometric shapes detailed with linear and undulating linework in a pastel color palette, with a textural background. Certain shapes spill off to the margins of the composition, with a shadow cast beneath them. To the lower margins is a handwritten artist signature, date (1994), print edition, listed 74 of 100, and title. The print is presented under glass beneath layered matting in a gold tone gessoed frame with hanging wire to the verso.
