A fragment of a hand-colored wood engraving titled Himmel und Erde (Sky and Earth) in the style of medieval book illustration. It was originally published by Hans Krafft in 1584. The piece depicts a portion of sky and clouds on the right, and a brass-colored, textured sphere to the left. Affixed to the verso is an informational sheet in German on book illustration in the Middle Ages and later, and a certificate of authenticity for the print. It is presented mounted on paper with a painted border.
