Eastlake Style Rocking Chair

An Eastlake style rocking chair. This piece has a walnut finish and burgundy velvet-like upholstery. The crest of the chair is intricately carved with a circular burl accent. The stiles are incised, and curve to the front to form arms with padded upholstered rests. The handholds are square with low finials and incised details. The skirt to the front features incised details and a cartouche shaped burl accent. The chair rests on two scalloped bases with stretchers and casters, with a rocking mechanism.
