A wooden carving of a monk praying by artist Leonardo Salazar. This Mexican Folk Art style carving depicts a robed figure with exaggerated features, including low eyebrows, stout nose, pursed lips, elongated hands and a slender body clasping its hands in prayer, intently staring forward. The sanded surface has been further gouged to evidence fine detail of hair and an affixed rosary at the hip. To the underside is an etched artist signature.

- slight scuffing to surface; stained residue to underside.
