A circa 1940s hand-knotted Persian Mahi Mood room size rug. The wool constructed rug displays a flower medallion to the center. The light blue, goldenrod, rust and cream colored medallion stands on a cream colored field. The field is decorated with intricate purling arabesque vines. Surrounding the field are two minor meandering palmette borders, flanking the principal palmette border, each interspersed with small geometric guard borders. The piece is finished with a cropped white cotton warp fringe at ends.
