A circa 1930s hand-knotted Persian Pictorial Archaeological Kashmar room size rug. This wool rug features an “archaeological” pictorial design with a rust and powder blue central medallion with pendants against an indigo field with ornate lanceolatus and foliage along with urns and vases. The field is accented with cerulean blue colored spandrels. The field is encircled by a large scale major border of repeating vase forms and floral patterns over a goldenrod or indigo colored ground. The rug terminates in a natural warped fringe. Unmarked.
