A set of two mid-century Japanese woodblock restrike prints on paper after listed Japanese artist Utagawa Kunisada I (歌川 国貞 1786 – 1865). The first is titled Actor Onoe Kikujirô II as the Blind Minstrel (Goze) Asagao. It originates as the left half of a larger two-part work; more information about that piece can be found by visiting the MFA link in ‘Additional Information’, located below. Also included is a print titled Takayuki Akagi featuring a figure wearing a black kimono with two swords near a seaside. The prints are matted in off-white and presented under glass in slim black wooden frames with sawtooth hangers to the verso.

Condition

- to Fair; toning and foxing to paper and mats; some creasing present; minor wear to frames.
