A hand-knotted Persian Kashmar pictorial room size rug. The intricately designed wool rug features a cerulean blue lozenge medallion with foliage at its center. The indigo colored field is decorated with arabesque vines, vase forms, and depictions of birds. The field is accented with currant colored spandrels with oversized vase and bird forms. The field is encircled by a large scale major border of repeating vase forms, floral patterns, and birds over a cream or indigo colored ground. The rug terminates in a cropped cotton fringe.
