A hand colored wood engraving on paper by Julian Oliver Davidson (American, 1853-1894), published on October 5th 1889 in Harper’s Weekly. Titled A Barge Party on the Hudson by Moonlight, this depicts members of the Nyack Rowing Association, their ‘lady friends’ according to the text in the original issue, and their captain, crossing the Tappan Zee Bay. It is signed in plate to the lower right and titled below. The work is presented with an off-white mat, under glass, in a silver and gold tone wooden frame that is wired for hanging.

Condition

- some minor surface wear to the frame.
