Primitive Wooden Shield

Item Details

An antique primitive shield. This features a rectangular wooden board with a geometric design carved in shallow relief on the front, and a bark wrapped top edge affixed to shield with strands of cane and rope. There are two handles, formed from a woven rope net and a band of natural fibers.

Condition

- some overall significant surface wear includes scratches, chips and gouges.
