A hand-knotted Persian area rug. The rug features a lattice pattern of four pointed stars, vines, and florals in a palette of deep yellow, black, and grey and sits on top of a deep red field. The field is enclosed by a compound border that that features a pattern of abstract heart shaped elements in a matching palette with a deep brown background. The rug has an overcast edge with a wool fringe and is marked to the back.
