Indo-Persian Brass Tray Wall Hanging

Item Details

An Indo-Persian brass tray. This large piece features intricately chased decoration in the round depression featuring a central figure surrounded by animals in lotus blossom petals, that is framed by quatrefoil cartouches of alternating script and figures. The flaring embossed rim features a band of thumbprint depressions and an out border of boteh. A triangular hook is attached on verso for hanging, and no discernible maker’s mark could be found.

Condition

- some surface wear with faint markings and oxidation; some dust has accrued in nooks and crannies.
