A Georgian style slant front secretary desk from Maitland-Smith. This beautiful piece is crafted with mahogany veneer throughout and accented with bands of satinwood and ebony inlay. The cabinet has a broken pediment top with a gold tone shell finial to the center, carved acanthus detailing, and dentil molding below. The solid paneled doors have fluted pilasters to each side with brass capitals. The doors open to reveal an array of drawers, cubbies, and shelving for home or office storage. The unique interior design features Roman arches and a leather writing surface. The lower desk has two small drawers over three large drawers for additional storage. The desk rests on bracket feet.
